Dental dentures are devices made at the Laboratory and their main purpose is replace the missing teeth. There are different kind of dentures and materials which can be used depending on each patients’ necessities.
What kind of dentures exist?
Dentures can be either fixed (they are cemented over the patient´s teeth and are not removed) or removal (the patient can put the denture in and out the mouth).
Removal dentures can be done by resin exclusively or a combination between resin and metal. Exclusive resin dentures, normally are indicated and prescribe to replace the all teeth or like a temporal denture during implants treatment. Combinate dentures with resin and metal normally are used when the patient still has teeth in the mouth and is necessary to replace
some missed teeth.

Fixed dentures are commonly known by crowns or bridges.
Crowns can be used for single or several teeth because the teeth had previously suffered an important fracture. Bridges are done to replace at least 1 missed tooth. Both treatments cover all the teeth surfaces and sometimes it is possible to do crowns in all the teeth as a cosmetic treatment to improve the mouth functionality.
The material used for the fixed dentures could be metal-porcelain or zirconia. Zirconia is more recommended due to the absence of metals so there is no risk of allergies. Zirconia is a white material so the aesthetic results are totally guaranteed either immediately after the treatment is finished or later over the years. With the zirconia we avoid the unsightly black rings around
the teeth after the years in case the gums would be receded.
Besides, zirconia has a high resistance which means with the zirconia we can guarantee the treatment functionality and aesthetic through the time of use. They can better withstand day to day wear and tear, therefore, lasting significantly longer.
